I've been planning for the talent show all night and have to admit I'm getting very stoked (new word to learn for all you ESL folks). The performers have worked hard on their acts and we have a couple of great MCs that are sure to make the evening memorable. You never know what surprises are in store, or what you might learn, so come out and enjoy a great show, tomorrow at 7 in Neufeld Hall. We'll see you there!

Tonight we had another terrific Tea and Games Night in Neumann lobby. We had many teachers come tonight as well, which made it all the more exciting. We went through a lot of tea and snacks, played the usual games, and even had some people move outdoors to play volleyball. Erwin wrapped up the evening with his usual door prizes.

Saturday, the residence life staff planned a day trip to the Dolphinarium and Smiltyne beach. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and lots of fun was had by all. The dolphin show was extraordinary, so if you didn't get a chance to go, I would encourage you to check it out before you leave. Here a few of the captured moments throughout the day.

Just a quick reminder that the residence life staff has a fun filled weekend planned for all to enjoy. Tonight at 6 pm will be the annual SLI BBQ. Come ready to eat some good food, but more importantly, come ready to have some fun playing some team games.

Hint: I would suggest that everyone wear something they are comfortable with getting wet.

Saturday, we will be taking anyone who wants to go to the dolphinarium to watch a dolphin show and then we will spend the rest of the day at beautiful Smiltyne beach. We will be leaving Neumann Hall at 10:30. We will be gone most of the day, so come ready to relax and enjoy the beach and the dolphins. ***More details to come***

First Tea and Games a Huge Success!

Tonight was the first tea and game night of Summer Language Institute. We went through a LOT of tea and snacks and played all kinds of fun games. At the end there was a raffle and we gave away a lot of prizes... everything from I Love New York t-shirts to earrings were given. Come Wednesday again to have more fun!

Speaking of residence life... It's Monday, so that means we will be having tea tonight in the lobby of Neumann Hall. Along with tea, as you might suspect, we will have all kinds of games to play. Come drink some tea, have some fun, and enjoy the company of your classmates.

Yesterday was the first official residence life event, and we decided to take students to Melnragė beach #1 to show them how to get there and to have a great day of fun and relaxation. It was quite the sight as 50+ SLI students overtook the sidewalks along the way. The water was cold, but some of the students swam anyway. There were some that played volleyball, but the highlight of the day was getting 15-20 SLI students to actually throw around American footballs. I enjoyed it while it lasted because we will probably never do that again. I promise the students that we will play "real" futbol from now on. Enjoy a couple of the photos that Marija took while we were there.
